Resonant Paintings
Welcome to the Resonant Paintings Website
The paintings you'll find on this website are created with passion, intuition and a bit of method too! Some of them are in a Mandala style which can be meditated on, or simply gazed at while relaxing. Others have been created with particular colour or colour palette and movement (for example autumn colours and with particular speed and shape of the brush-strokes). There are also paintings that have been created after being moved or inspired by something... like a landscape, people, animals, an experience or a piece of music!
About the artist Cheryl Colpman
I have always enjoyed drawing and creativity but lacked the confidence and knowledge to shine in this area at school, doing better in the more academic subjects such as maths and history. After a long office career, life took a sharp turn and I was lead to the world of Complementary Medicine. I have been a Complementary Practitioner since 1999 (more information about therapies at www.cherylcolpman.co.uk). While learning about Colour for Healing with Sue and Simon Lilly I was inspired to take up painting again and I discovered my passion for creating art.
Part of my method and passion for creating paintings comes from art classes and workshops. These have helped me develop the way I work and the way I look at things to depict what I see into a painting I've also attended many workshops exploring abstract, botanical painting and other expressive art creation. I'm also partly self-taught by reading and absorbing books and of course, by practicing and experimenting.
I produce and exhibit work in and around Coalville, North West Leicestershire in the East Midlands, including South Derbyshire - please see the 'contact and exhibitions' page for further information but please phone to check first if you're making a special journey. Paintings and holistic items can also be sent anywhere in the UK with p&p just charged at cost.
Environmental Note
Packaging
We reuse and recycle whenever possible both in Cheryl's artwork and in posting and packaging materials. Artwork is always packed carefully and protectively with reused, recyclable or reusable materials whenever possible. We hope that you will continue to reuse materials whenever possible as this is even better than recycling!
Housekeeping
Environmentally friendly cleaning materials are used wherever possible, from companies such as BioD and Clearspring which have no-animal-testing and no-animal-ingredients policies. The use of products such as white-spirit, which are occasionally necessary, are kept to a minimum.
