Introduction
Welcome to the Resonant Gallery. The paintings that may be found here are of a variety of media for example; acrylics, watercolour, inks, wax, pencil, found and reused objects, left overs such as emulsion... Commissions are available (please see the welcome page for more info or please contact the Studio) or you can buy 'off the peg' from selected retailers and galleries and again by contacting the Studio. Many of the paintings are inspired by the motivation to heal using colour and shape or form, others are meditative such as the Mandalas. Others still, I hope, will provide an opportunity to develop your spirituality (in whatever form that is for you), and exploration (and fruition) of your hopes and dream ... Paintings that have resonance.
Some of the paintings are simply representations of things that I have found inspiring such as a beautiful scene or piece of music.
Buying
To buy originals or prints please contact the Studio for quick, personal assistance. Buying is as easy as 1,2,3;
- Please send us an email or give us a call with what you would like and we will reserve them for you ready to send out as soon as we receive cleared payment.
- We will then contact you to confirm the amount due including p&p (there's no VAT)
- Payment can be made by cheque or we can send a Paypal link which is quick and straight forward and 'clears' immediately we receive confirmation that you have paid.'
All items can be posted within the UK and this is charged at cost.

Description: The Ivy represents fidelity and friendship, linking across the picture as a strong bond. At the bottom left is a yellow shaded square symbolising Earth and our life bonds to it. The four sides of a square are two pairs of lines; opposite yet parallel and in perfect balance and stability. On the square are hundreds of golden, copper and bronze dots which denote the myriad reasons for friendship. The yellow rose is a representation of friendship, joy, respect, freedom, caring and gladness.
On the right the vertical lines topped with green are willow, characterising the endurance and flexibility of strong friendship.
The violet shades in the background symbolise spirituality, calmness, infinity and heaven to balance with the Earth of the Square.
Finally, violet and yellow are complementary colours - opposite each other on the colour wheel, providing equilibrium, stability.

Description: I'm fascinated by the golden ration and was inspired to paint bright colours in a Golden Ratio spiral after I saw a particularly bright, vivid rainbow arcing across the sky from my office window.

Description: A celebration of the feminine. The symbols represent (from top clockwise); An Ankh, the Egyptian symbol of life, 3 golden ratio spirals based on the Celtic image of the maiden, mother and crone; a yonic image of a lily signifying beauty and fertility, the moon with a leaf, representing the Earth's responses and female rhythm in tune with the lunar cycles; and in the centre a chalice, a vessel representing a woman's ability to carry a child, nurture and hold. Water and Earth are also represented in the Mandala, both considered female elements.

Description: Depicts thoughts (perhaps rigid or set in patterns; represented by the bricks) which then flow from the person (shown as water which also represents emotions) which turns the waterwheel circulating certain symbolic health aspects. Represents the connection between the mental and emotional, and physical symptom.

Description: Rough plaster relief design on plyboard, ready to hang with string on the back. Looks great on a kitchen or dining room wall. Originally inspired by the wonderful mosaics we saw on holiday in Cyprus which I made plaster reliefs directly onto our dining-room walls!

Description: For painting class we were going to paint a lighthouse and I had an idea
that most lighthouses are actually red and white striped - like a barber's
pole! I was delighted to find that this isn't always the case and took
photos of a lighthouse in Spain, changing the landscape a bit and adding a
moody sky to get the look I wanted.

Description: Acrylics were used to create rich background colour and then feathers* and an easy fraying fabric2 produce depth and movement with the cut ribbons. The mirror adds further depth and light. When standing close to the picture (try 30cm) the viewer may see their own reflection and with the right focus the overall image seems to give an illusion of wearing a feather-headdress.
(* natural colour ones were found in a park and the coloured one was left behind after a workshop - the end of the quill was snapped and it was going to be thrown away.)

'Fragile' - please note that touching the picture frequently is not recommended - clean when necessary with very light dusting using a fluffy duster-in-a-stick, using extreme care.
